A Valentine’s Day thank you!

Okay, okay. It’s time to be sappy. It is, after all, Valentine’s Day.

To my beautiful and lovely wife, Diana Denison, I am really sorry I have strained the very limits of “for better or for worse” and “in sickness and in health,” over the past few months.

This poor woman had to put up with the loss of my job and confirmation of my cancer diagnosis – all on the SAME @#$%ing DAY – and had the chance to “celebrate” her 25th wedding anniversary between my first and second cancer surgeries.

Diana, you have given real meaning to the concept of “commitment” and you, along with our two incredible children, have taught me the real meaning of the word “family.”

It’s been a rough few months and I really doubt I could have emerged from it as well as I have without you and Philip and Annika. I love you … and frankly, I don’t need a special holiday to remind me of that, but I will use this opportunity to proclaim it to the world.

I love my wife. I love my family.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
